It is extremely critical that you know how to clean your fuel injector, because deposits can form at the tip of the injector, and once this occurs, things only become progressively worse. The main reason why these deposits form is because when a thoroughly heated engine is shut off, your water pump no longer circulates coolant.

Thus, the engine temperature instantly shoots up, and any fuel left at the tip of the fuel injector is immediately subjected to a “heat soak” period, where it is immediately baked onto your injector. So what can be done to clean your fuel injector, so that you don’t have a dangerous porous mass constantly forming? Here are 3 must know fuel injector cleaning tips….

Fuel Injector Cleaning

Cleaners - By adding a cleaner directly to your vehicle’s fuel tank, you will be able to clean off the grunge that has built up on your fuel injector, however this is the least effective method of fuel injection cleaning.

Additives - Because this issue can easily occur, oil companies have produces additives which will keep injectors relatively clean.

However a downside to be considered is that additives are often attributed to making the intake valve deposits worse, however there are measures you can use to keep your intake valves clean as well.

Brand name fuel – You may hate having to hear this, but brand name fuels actually allow your fuel injector to stay clean longer.

You certainly get what you pay for in this situation, as brand name fuels always have additives anyways which will easily prevent deposits from forming on your injector.

Clean your fuel injector every 25,000 miles – it is suggested that you make an effort to clean your injector every 25,000 miles, so that you do not strain your vehicle in the instance that there is a buildup of deposits.

Types of fuel injectors – Up until recently, most injector models were contributing immensely to the problem in the first place.

You will have to do less fuel injector cleanings if you simply switch from a pintle model, to the disc, ball, and seat design.

The disc design for your injector will be less prone to deposit formation in the first place, but that does not mean that deposits will never be formed afterward.

As well you will need to replace your injector, if your regular fuel injector cleaning processes do not remove the buildup, so remember this respectively.

If you are into the automotive world, or if you simply just enjoy building and maintaining your vehicle to it’s best, then it is critical that you know about Hilborn fuel injection! Hilborn mechanical injectors are famous, because of their widely appraised performance and quality. The Hilborn EFI injectors, especially have become the instant choice of any automotive enthusiast. However, what are the real facts when it comes to Hilborn fuel injectors? Read on to find out the benefits and facts behind the perfect Hilborn fuel injection system….

This means they make the maintenance and upkeep of your vehicle more flexible, but it also means that the possibilities of what kinds of models you can use alongside a mechanical EFI are quite vast.

Racing - Of course you know we couldn’t even talk about the benefits of a hilborn fuel injection system, without of course mentioning racing itself, as they were originally designed just for that purpose.
